Who are we?

For The Love Of Wine + Travel

The Wine Journeys provides wine enthusiasts with travel itineraries designed around the enjoyment and education of wine. The Wine Journeys is a new branch of The Journey Group, a boutique travel firm helping clients make once-in-a-lifetime memories for over 17 years. That’s a long time in the travel industry, and we’ve perfected our craft of matching clients with the best possible vacation for their specific needs and desires. We’ve handpicked the tours and river cruise itineraries offered to include the best the industry has to offer. In addition to these select offerings, we will work closely with clients to fully customize any style of travel designed around wine.

Why Wine Tours? Our pre-designed wine tours give clients the ability to leave the art of discovery to the wine and not the travel involved. Walk in the footsteps of expert travel leaders who meticulously designed well-spent days in exotic locations and dreamy vineyards.

Each tour includes accommodations in the most well-appointed hotels, a selection of meals and culinary experiences, as well as entrance fees and meet + greet for local wineries.

Why River Cruising? River Cruising is quickly becoming the most preferred way to experience the celebration of wine + travel. River Cruising provides a leisurely pace with which to explore a number of regions across Europe and Asia. We’ve partnered with a leader in the industry in offering a touring culinary and wine experience like no other.

Each sailing is fully hosted by wine experts who will share their passion over gourmet wine pairing menus, wine tastings, and informal conversations. At each port, you will gain first-hand knowledge about viticulture and wine production and what sets this region apart from other ideal wine-growing locations.

Through the years, we have built personal relationships with all of the suppliers we recommend, such as hotels, river cruise companies, and tourist boards. In an effort to only sell what we know, our travel consultants take every trip we sell. We convey our client’s special requests to the staff member on property we know will expedite the consideration.

We encourage our clients to think outside the box when selecting the perfect location for their event. Why not impress your guests with something unique and extraordinary? Dream big and let us do the rest. We pull our suggestions from a long list of proven successes and what is actually feasible in a foreign location.

By staying up-to-date on industry trends, we are able to provide our clients with swift and spot-on answers to any question they might have. We only sell what we know. By focusing solely on grape growing and wine making regions, we have in-depth local knowledge of what’s happening there. This ensures our clients make the most informed decisions possible.

At Menade, it’s all in the family. The Sanz siblings have five generations of winemakers behind them. So the footprints they walk in are important ones. They have been working on their own project since 2005. That includes becoming pioneers in the organic certification of their winery and vineyard in Rueda – a region in Spain that sits a at considerable elevation (around 700 metres in altitude) and lies to the north and west of Madrid. The impressive elevation is one of the reasons the wines in this region, especially the signature white grape variety, Verdejo, are so crisp. Menade has 120 Verdejo vines, including an ancient, ungrafted, 30 hectare parcel of bush vines. Marco, the viticulturalist, Richard, the winemaker and Alejandra, who manages sales and communications worked together to create Menade and their wines have become an important example in effort and perseverance.

“I had a dream in the family, in which the sixth generation in which we, together with my brother an “I had a dream in the family, in which the sixth generation in which we, together with my brother and my sister, start doing something that really ran through our veins,” says Richard Sanz. The dream that started as a little vineyard showcasing natural wines grew into something family estates are made of. “
